U-RGB is the only compact external VGA signal grabber capable of capturing output from virtually any VGA source – such as a Windows PC, Unix machine, embedded systems, medical devices, scientific or lab equipment, and more.
It is invaluable in the preparation of documentation, analyzing monitor-less systems and performing quality control on tested systems. It supports any application that requires the acquisition of VGA images, as well as enhancing collaboration sessions.
As a compact external device, U-RGB is easy to use. About the size of a box of paperclips, it is easily plugged in and requires no additional power.
It is a fully-featured VGA/RGB capture product, complete with hardware, USB cable and software that makes it possible to view captured data in real time, save captured images to disk, copy captured images to a clipboard, or setup a periodical “save” command to capture images to disk.
Software development kits are also available for specialized applications.

For specialised applications that require custom software, iView Data can provide examples and SDK for Windows 200 and XP.

U-RGB captures and transfers every pixel of the original VGA frame in 16-bit per-pixel RGB format. In this respect U-RGB provides better quality than solutions like a VGA-to-video converter paired with a Composite or S-Video grabber.
Below you can see pairs of screen captures to illustrate the quality of image that U-RGB captures. The first column shows screen shots taken using the “Print Screen” function on a PC. The second column shows the same shots taken using U-RGB.
In addition, U-RGB can be set to automatically capture (or auto-save) images at preset intervals - something "Print Screen" function cannot offer.
