The iVD-01 acquires analog RGB, Digital Video Interface (DVI) and composite video signals. The card locks automatically to the selected input signal of up to 1600 x 1200 resolution and converts the images to data files. Video images are grabbed in one video frame, so even dynamic video images can be grabbed without movement artefacts, which are common with traditional high resolution frame grabbers.
The acquired images can be displayed in the window of a PC workstation or can be stored onto the hard disk for later retrieval. The size of the grabbed image is up to 1600 x 1200 pixels at 24-bit colour resolution. A selection of data compression software is available for reduction of stored image memory requirements. On-screen panels for adjustment of input and output features allow easy control of the card. Software support is for Windows NT/2000 and Linux, other drivers on request. The software supports up to four frame grabbers in one system.
Application areas for the frame grabber are e.g. display, storage, printing and transmission of non-computer video, such as radar, X-ray or other medical images, integration of video and graphics pictures from different sources into one display, e.g. in VideoWall applications, maritime Voyage Data Recorders, black boxes, dataloggers, military applications, test and measurement systems, distance learning and distance surveillance, etc.
